Ayre Supports STEM Event Inspiring Young People in Orkney

Ayre Offshore Wind Farm was proud to support the recent Stemovators Celebration of STEM event in Orkney, introducing young people to the opportunities created by renewable energy and engineering.

The event brought together around 75 primary school pupils from across the islands for a day of interactive science, technology, engineering and maths activities designed to inspire the next generation of innovators.

Representing Ayre Offshore Wind Farm, Community Engagement Manager Allan Tait hosted a turbine challenge that gave pupils the chance to explore how wind energy can be converted into electricity to help power homes and communities.

The activity offered a hands-on introduction to offshore wind and encouraged pupils to think about future careers in clean energy, engineering and technology.

Ayre Offshore Wind Farm is committed to engaging with local communities and supporting initiatives that help develop skills, awareness and interest in the industries that will shape Scotland’s energy future.
